The most common lawn grass growing in Florida is St. Augustine. Below are a few tips on how to properly fertilize this type.

St. Augustine grasses should be fertilized every two months during spring and summer. The fertilizer should be used at the rate of 6 pounds for every 1,000 square feet of lawn and a height of 3-4 inches is recommended for this grass.
