Wiregrass Fresh Market: A Fun Way to Spend a Saturday Morning

I had been tipped off by a friend of a friend that a local honey producer visits the Wiregrass mall for the Fresh market every two weeks, and the raw honey may help deal with allergies.

Yesterday, I got my first "taste" of the sights and smells of the market — which I found impressive. Hopefully, I'll be able to report back later on the efficacy of the honey ...

As with many events that take place at Wiregrass, this is a dog-friendly event which included a stall run by the Labrador and Retriever rescue society. Once past the local cigar maker, there was an array of food options to try: from Thai to Italian to pulled pork. For culinary needs beyond lunchtime, many stalls provided fresh options for your pantry including fresh breads (and banana breads!), strawberry and pepper plants, as well as organic veggies and eggs.

I was truly impressed by the number of local vendors, each greeting passers-by with a smile and the offer of a free sample. I highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by for this regular event!
