BURR & FORMAN'S JACQUELINE SIMMS-PETREDIS PRESENTS ON PROFESSIONALISM IN THE LEGAL INDUSTRY
Simms-Petredis Presents on Professionalism for the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division and Cooley Law School
Tampa, Fla., Sept. 23, 2015 – Burr & Forman LLP announces that Tampa-based attorney Jacqueline Simms-Petredis helped facilitate two presentations on professionalism in the legal industry on September 3. First, she served on a panel discussing “Young Lawyer Professionalism” at the Fall 2015 Practicing with Professionalism seminar presented by The Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee and the Young Lawyers Division. The event was held at the Tampa Airport Marriott. Following the event, Simms-Petredis also spoke at the Tampa Bay campus of the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, discussing professionalism in action.
In her first presentation, Simms-Petredis, who serves on the Board of Governors for The Florida Bar Young Lawyer’s Division, discussed an array of topics regarding ethical and legal issues that young lawyers may face in their future careers.
At Cooley Law School, Simms-Petredis spoke with future attorneys about the culture of professionalism within The Florida Bar, as well as the standards to which students will be held as practicing attorneys.

At Burr & Forman, Simms-Petredis is part of the firm’s Financial Services Litigation practice group with a focus on financial litigation and compliance. She counsels clients in matters such as foreclosures, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, compliance issues and direct-filed law suits.
Outside of the firm, Simms-Petredis is an active leader in several professional and community organizations. Beyond her role with the state bar’s Young Lawyers Division, she serves on the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Executive Board, is a past president of the Young Lawyers Division of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and earned the Hillsborough Bar’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award earlier this year.

Simms-Petredis earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, and her law degree from Tulane Law School.
