Busch Gardens' Ride is Raising Neighbors' Ire
Not everyone is happy to see Falcon's Fury swing into action.

As Busch Gardens Tampa celebrates the soft opening of its latest ride, some nearby residents say the noise is just too much to handle.
Neighbors living off 30th Street and west of McKinley Drive are experiencing the brunt of the disturbances, Channel 10 News reports. Nearby resident Jim Froonjian said it sounds like an auto accident when the ride is operating.
So, how loud is it?

The station did its own testing and says the ride peaked at 70 dBA. That number surpasses Tampa’s noise ordinance, but as it turns out the park is exempt.
Falcon’s Fury had its soft launch earlier this week, Busch Gardens reported on its Facebook page.

Falcon’s Fury is the tallest freestanding drop tower in North America, coming in at 335 feet, Busch Gardens says on its website.
“At the ride’s highest point, like its bird of pretty namesake, riders pivot 90 degrees in midair to a face-down position. An instant later, they’ll plunge 60 mph straight down.”
The new ride was intended to open earlier this year, but was delayed.
