NEW TAMPA, FL — With the presidential election looming in November, Vice President Mike Pence has taken to the road to solidify support for President Donald Trump's second bid for the office.

His tour wouldn't be complete without stops along what political analysts describe as the most crucial 132 miles in Florida — the Interstate 4 corridor stretching from Tampa to Daytona Beach.

With its 29 Electoral College votes, Florida is the largest swing state in the country, and the I-4 corridor across Central Florida is considered a bellwether for the rest of the state.

"As goes I-4, so goes Florida" is the mantra of pundits.

Voters along the I-4 corridor account for nearly half of all registered voters in the state, most of which are swing voters. Their ballots could determine who sits in the Oval Office.

With that in mind, Pence is made his way to New Tampa Thursday for a re-election rally for Trump at the Venetian Event Center at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.

The rally was livestreamed on C-Span.

Afterward, Pence headed to Kissimmee, another I-4 community for a rally at Nacion de Fe church.
