Peter Vaka president of the Rotary Club of New Tampa Evening announced that the club will sponsor Cub Scout Pack 280. The Cubs recently lost their sponsorship and were looking for a new home.
Pack 280 has more than 60 members. The group is activity and discovery based. "We welcome the opportunity to share our values as Rotarians with the younger generation and plan to include them in our projects and programs," Vaka said.
Recently the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Wiregrass sponsored a Scout Troop and is providing them with a meeting place.
Rotary's Fifth Avenue of Service is Youth Service. It includes Interact for high school students and Rotaract for college age students. Rotary Youth Exchange send high school age youngsters to more than 37 countries for a period of one year.
