Barely Pink (facebook.com/BarelyPink) was formed in 1994 and after some personnel shifts went on to become one of Tampa Bay's most popular acts, releasing a debut EP and three full-length albums as well as numerous compilation and tribute CD appearances before taking a hiatus in 2004.
Also with The Human Condition (reverbnation.com/humanconditionFL), a Bradenton band long been a local favorite on both sides of the Skyway, earning a dedicated fanbase through tireless gigging at venues large and not-so. The acoustic-leaning group, helmed by singer-songwriter-guitarist Dean Johanesen, performs tunes in the vein of Ben Harper, Led Zeppelin and Radiohead, running the gamut from subtle and understated to arena-ready rocker with mile-wide singalong hooks.
Plus The Semis (facebook.com/thesemis), who write classic rock n' roll songs that are infused with the delivery and strum of The Kinks, the unbridled pomp of T. Rex and the axe wizardry of Thin Lizzy. The band's 2010 release, Back To The Beach, was awarded Album of the Year by Creative Loafing and received praise from fans and critics alike. An album about loss, addiction, redemption and hope, Back to the Beach combines jangly, swirly, fuzzy guitars with '60s pop melody, '80s hair rock audacity and the sounds of mellow surf. 2011's Decapitator Blues is the latest full-length release from The Semis.
