Inertia: The Musical is something different, for sure - an ambitious concept album, created by a local musician and USF music major, Chris Sgammato, performed in its entirety.
The show features a 15-person cast, a 14-piece band, and a strong message striving to create Informed Citizens in a Democratic Society, Responsible Consumers in a Capitalistic Society, and Tolerant Believers in a Diverse Society. Society is stuck in a state of SOCIAL INERTIA, resisting a pull towards something greater than ourselves because of an insatiable appetite for distraction. It is the artist's hope that The People will wake up from these distractions and become active participants in the democratic system and that The People will resist the trend towards willful ignorance that plagues society.
