Update: Meadow Pointe Boulevard Now Open

A brush fire closed the section of the road between State Road 56 and Chancey Road.

Update 9:20 p.m. March 6: The Pasco County Sheriff's Office has reopened Meadow Pointe Boulevard. The status of the brush fire is unknown at this point.

Motorists traveling along Meadow Pointe Boulevard in Wesley Chapel might want to take a different route this evening, March 6.

A brush fire has forced the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office to close the road between State Road 56 and Chancey Road.

Kevin Doll, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said no homes have been evacuated at this time and no injuries have been reported. Pasco County Fire Rescue is on the scene putting out the fire.

Doll, however, reports that traffic is backing up on Meadow Pointe and says motorists should stay out of the area if possible.
