Fire Destroys 2 Apartments

The blaze broke out yesterday, Feb. 11, in a garage and spread to one other apartment.

Four New Tampa residents and a dog are without homes this morning after a fire broke out Feb. 11, damaging their apartments.

According to Tampa Fire Rescue, a call came in around 12:44 p.m. yesterday about a vehicle fire in a garage at 18002 Richmond Place Drive. When crews arrived, they worked to extinguish the blaze and were able to keep it contained to two apartments – the ground floor and the home directly above, a fire rescue media release said.

While no one was injured, the fire did leave a husband and wife and a male and female who live together as roommates and their dog without homes. Fire rescue reports the Red Cross and the apartment complex are working with the victims to find them homes in the same apartment complex.
