Fire Rips Through Tampa Palms Apartment

A family of four has lost its home following a fire that broke out at the Promenade at Tampa Palms.

The fire at 16200 Enclave Village Drive was reported around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to an email to media from Tampa Fire Rescue. A security guard called the blaze into 911 and said flames and smoke were coming from one of the units in the three-story complex.

The first firefighters made it to the scene by 9:35 and were able to get the flames under control fairly fast, the email said. By 10:30 a.m., the fire was out, but firefighters were taking extra precautions to make sure a re-flash didn’t occur and damage any nearby apartments.

Two adults and two children lived in the home, the email said. They were safely evacuated and no injuries have been reported. The American Red Cross has been called in to assist them.

The fire remains under investigation.
