Five Questions With An Arts Council Director
Lynn Norton is a New Tampa resident and director of education for the Arts Council of Hillsborough County.

Patch covered the annual Hillsborough County Senior Spring Fling and Painting/Craft Festival, held Tuesday at the Norton was serving as one of the judges and we caught up with her there.
Patch: How long have you worked at the Arts Council?
Norton: I’ve worked at the Arts Council for over thirty years, and counting.

Patch: Where did you receive your degree?
Norton: I have a degree in English and a degree in music, both from Minnesota.

Patch: What brought you to Florida?
Norton: I used to come here for vacation and one year, I just stayed and it has been over thirty years now.
Patch: How do you use the arts?
Norton: I use different art forms to do substance abuse counseling and grief counseling. The art touches every single part of us as human beings.
Patch: What is something you do not think many people know about you?
Norton: I just got my master's in counseling and that I do a lot of art and music therapy.
