Flashers Have USF Campus on Alert

Three separate incidents have occurred in the past few days.

The University of South Florida Police Department is asking students to be vigilant after three separate flashing incidents occurred on the Tampa campus over the last few days.

The most recent incident happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25 when a man wearing no pants was seen exposing himself to a female victim.

The man, police wrote in a media release, was standing outside the Magnolia Residence C. The suspect in that case is described as a white man in his mid-30s. He had dark, thinning hair and was wearing a white polo shirt and rectangular eye glasses.

The victim in that case saw the man through a closed window, left the room and called police. While responding officers checked the area, they couldn’t find the suspect.

Two other similar incidents have occurred in the past few days, police noted. The suspects in those incidents, however, are both described as men in their 20s. One was black and the other white. One drove a light gray vehicle while the other was in red vehicle.

“As in the previous incidents, no physically aggressive actions were taken by the suspect and no contact was made with the victim,” the police department noted about the latest incident.

Members of the USF community are being asked to report any suspicious activity. Those who might have information in any of the cases should call 813-974-2628. Students who don’t wish to travel alone on campus may call the USF SAFE Team safety escort at 813-974-SAFE.
