Freedom Girls Soccer Goes for District Title Tonight

It has already been a spectacular season for Freedom High School's Patriots girls soccer team. Stuck in a district with reigning Class 2A state champion Steinbrenner, the Patriots have been overlooked much of the year. However, a Nov. 17 draw against Steinbrenner and a rematch tonight will go a long way in determining just who is head of the class in District 8.

Either way, the Patriots are headed to regionals next week. They would very much like to avoid a first-round exit, like they did last year at the hands of Gulf Coast High School. They are already riding high off a fantastic, overtime 5-4 penalty kick win over Wiregrass Ranch.
