Freedom High Off Lockdown Status
The Tampa Police Department lifted the lockdown after searching the school for a gun.
TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department has lifted a lockdown on the Freedom High School campus after a search for a firearm turned up nothing.
The agency announced just after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday that the school’s resource officer had received a tip about the possible gun. Acting on that tip, the department put the school in lockdown status and began to search for a weapon. None was found, the agency reported at 2:14 p.m.
