House Fire Causes $626K In Damages In New Tampa
One resident suffered minor injuries, officials said.

NEW TAMPA, FL – A residential fire that broke out early Tuesday morning in New Tampa led to minor injuries for one resident and caused an estimated $626,000 in damages, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.
Crews responding shortly after 2 a.m. to the home on the 10500 block of Mistflower Lane found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the two-story structure, officials said.
Only one resident was home at the time and escaped, but was transferred to Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel with minor injuries. The fire consumed 50 percent of the house, and crews battled to get the fire under control at 3:55 a.m.

The fire marshal's report stated that the blaze broke out in the attached garage from an undetermined ignition source and caused extensive fire, heat, smoke and water damage, resulting in a probable "total loss" to the structure, the agency said.
A neighboring home to the east sustained minor heat damage, officials said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
