I-75 Lane Closure Might Slow Friday Morning Commute

New Tampa drivers hoping to use Interstate 75 Friday morning, July 19, for their commutes might run into some delays.

The right southbound lane on I-75 is closed north of the New Tampa Boulevard bridge to about Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Emergency asphalt repairs are under way in that section of the roadway, a FDOT media release said.

“Crews are taking out a section of old pavement and repaving to prevent further asphalt problems,” spokesman John McShaffrey wrote in the release.

 The closing is expected to last through the morning.
