Man Killed In Motorcycle Wreck After Crashing Through Window
The crash happened Friday evening in New Tampa.

A man was ejected from his motorcycle, crashed through the window of a car and died following a crash at the intersection of Commerce Palms Drive and Compton Drive on Friday evening, March 15, according to the Tampa Police Depatrtment.
Just after 6:30 p.m., Rossi C. Lopez, 23, of Tampa was driving her 2008 Pontiac G6 on Compton Drive towards Tampa Palms Boulevard. She stopped at the stop sign and entered the intersection, police say. However, she failed to notice that a motorcycle with the right of way had already entered the intersection.

That motorcycle was being driven by Gergoery Joseph Ashpaugh of Amberly Drive. The 26-year-old was riding his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle on Commerce Palms Drive towards Brice B. Downs Boulevard, police say. He was ejected from his motorcycle and crashed through the left rear window of the Pontiac and became “lodged in the backseat,” according to Tampa Police.
Ashpaugh died at the scene of the crash. Lopez was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way at a Stop Sign.
