Andersen: My father was a firefighter, and eventually he talked me into going to fire school. I've followed in his footsteps.

Patch: What is your most memorable moment as a firefighter?

Andersen: 9/11. I remember watching the firefighters in New York running into the building and knowing many of them wouldn't make it out alive.

Patch: What do you enjoy about living and working in New Tampa?

Andersen: I like living close to this new station, which is great. I am fortunate to work at this station with a full ladder truck.

Patch: Did you ever want to be anything besides a firefighter?

Andersen: When I was growing up I wanted to play pro ball, but then I woke up and decided I would be a firefighter?

Patch: What do you recommend to anyone who wants to be a firefighter?

Andersen: Keep on going to school and continuing your education and work your way to becoming a firefighter. If it is something you really want to do, don't give up.
