
A 45-year-old Tampa man has been missing since May 4, and was last seen in New Tampa.
Tampa Police said Leon Nelson, of Powhattan Avenue East, left home to pick up cans and never returned home.

“He suffered brain damage in an accident in 1997 so he becomes easily disoriented and confused,” according to a missing-persons bulletin. “He can advise people as to his name but he does not know how to get home.”
Nelson has his name and number written on the inside of his clothing, police said. He was seen May 5 near Bruce B. Downs and Tampa Palms boulevards in New Tampa.

Nelson is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has a scar on his throat and a ghost tattoo on his arm. He was last seen wearing a blue and white stripped long-sleeve shirt with black shorts and a Tampa Bay Buccaneers ball cap.
Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for Nelson. If you see him, call 911.
