Missing Senior Found Safe in New Tampa

Olimpia De La Caridad Prado left her home in the 1000 block of East 25th Avenue on Wednesday morning and had not been seen all day. She was later located in New Tampa.

An 83-year-old woman with dementia who had been missing all day Wednesday, Nov. 30, has been safely located in New Tampa.

Olimpia De La Caridad Prado left her home in the 1000 block of East 25th Avenue on Wednesday morning around 10 a.m. Her family called police because it was unusual for her to be away from home for so long. 

But at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday a resident of New Tampa called authorities after finding the Robles Park area resident in his backyard, police said.

"She appeared to be in good health and was safely returned to her family," according to a news release from Tampa Police.

No other details were available from authorities.
