Motorcyclist Seriously Injured on I-75 South

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. Friday.

 

A motorcycle rider received serious injuries after crashing into a vehicle on I-75 South just north of Fletcher Avenue Friday.

Robert Linden Gentry, 54, of Plant City was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital after his 2005 Harley-Davidson slammed into the rear of a 2006 Toyota Corolla, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities said the reason for the collision was that Gentry failed to see traffic had backed up and stopped ahead of him.

Gentry, who was cited for carless driving, was ejected from the motorcycle and received “serious injuries.”

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. and caused all southbound lanes to be closed for an hour.
