Neal Communities Breaks Ground on Indigo in Lakewood Ranch

Southwest Florida's prolific homebuilder, Neal Communities, recently broke ground on their new active, adult-themed community.

Southwest Florida’s prolific, privately owned homebuilder Neal Communities (www.nealcommunities.com) recently broke ground on Indigo, its newest neighborhood in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. An active, adult-themed community just northeast of Central Park, the neighborhood will feature a total of 453 homes on 151.32 acres at completion.

Located at the intersection of Pope Road and 44th Ave. E., Indigo will be a gated, island-resort style community with maintenance-included homes and a recreation center with a lifestyle director.

The builder worked closely with land planers to take special measures to preserve mature oak trees present on the east and north sides of the property and worked with the Lakewood Ranch Stewardship District to relocate a border road, White Eagle Boulevard (westward), in order to save additional trees on the west boundary of the property.

“The result is a truly beautiful, naturally preserved site that is more lush than what is typically found on Florida’s abundantly well farmed areas,” said Neal Communities’ CEO Pat Neal. “The outcome will showcase those stunning views for residents with an old Florida feel,” said Neal.

With 786 of the 826 homes in nearby Central Park now sold, Indigo will open just in time for an anticipated sell out of Neal’s popular community in the center of Lakewood Ranch.

“Homeowners looking to remain in this ideal location in Lakewood Ranch will have no delay in finding a new home here,” said Nicole Brooks, director of sales for the southwest Florida builder. “We originally anticipated a six-year sell out of Central Park, and since it will be more like four and a half, the timing is perfect for this new neighborhood to emerge.”

Indigo will be Neal’s 30th community for sale when its first phase opens in May 2015. It’s one of eight new neighborhoods that the builder will unveil in the first quarter of 2015, from Manatee to Collier counties, starting a five-year expansion plan that will also include communities in Hillsborough County for the first time in the firm’s 40-year history.
