New Tampa Man Charged in Child Pornography Case

When the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Predator Unit executed a search warrant at a New Tampa home this morning, they discovered computer files that show children ages 13 and younger engaged in sexual activities.

That search resulted in the arrest of Edsel Pereyra Capili, 40, of 20122 Weeping Laurel Place. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies seized two computers, several hard drives, CDs and DVDs from the home. A computer forensic scan turned up the pornographic files, the release said.

Following the arrest, Capili admitted to possessing child pornography, deputies say.

Capili, who listed his occupation as a software engineer for AT&T in jail records, was charged with 11 counts of child pornography. He remained at the Orient Road Jail today on $82,500 bond.
