New Tampa Toddler Falls 3 Stories

The child was alert, but was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The condition of a 3-year-old New Tampa girl remains unknown following her fall out of a third story window.

Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a 911 call at Andover Place Apartments just after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The caller said a child had fallen out of a window.

“Upon arrival Tampa Fire Rescue paramedics began examining the child and saw that she was alert and showed no obvious signs of injury,” department spokesman Jason Penny wrote in an email to media.

Even so, Penny said paramedics called for an AeroMed helicopter. The child was taken to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert. Her current condition is unknown.

Penny said the girl was jumping on a bed near the window when she fell.
