Pedestrian Killed in Fletcher Avenue Crash

TAMPA, FL — A 50-year-old man is dead following a Thursday morning crash on Fletcher Avenue.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Jodie Carroll was standing in the median, just west of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, around 5:32 a.m. when he stepped into the path of an oncoming Jeep Cherokee.

The Jeep, driven by Melody Greene, 55, of Zephyrhills, struck Carroll as he stepped into traffic.

Carroll, deputies say, died at the scene. He had no known address.

No charges have been announced.
