Stolen Cart Recovered; Suspect Caught
A $10,000 golf cart was stolen from Hunters Green Golf Club on Tuesday but later recovered, according to police.
After the vehicle was stolen, an employee noticed a bike-riding male who looked like the thief. Police caught up with the male, whose backpack contained several cans of black spray paint. Dubbed a known “prolific burglar” in the police report, the male admitted to knowing where the golf cart could be found. The vehicle, found abandoned in the Pebble Creek Community, had been spray-painted black.

Police did not immediately provide the name of the male, who was subsequently charged with grand theft-auto, possession of burglary tools and misdemeanor criminal mischief. The male was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

A 2002 Dodge Intrepid was stolen from Cypress Run Apartments Wednesday morning. The dark blue vehicle was stolen from in front of Building 26, it was reported to police.
Sometime between 12:30 and 3:30 in the same apartment complex on the same day, someone entered an apartment by cutting a patio screen porch and then opening an unlocked sliding glass door, according to police. The thief made away with cash, two DVD players and two pairs of earrings all totaling about $800.
