After thumping Durant 68-51 last week, the Wildcats stood 2-0, 1-0 in district play. Patch caught up with Coach Tonelli after that game to comment on the start of the season. And since that conversation, the Wildcats have gone on to notch victories against Alonso and Plant.

Patch: Is this an ideal way to start the season?

Tonelli: Strong starts. We jumped out to big leads in both games.

Patch: You use a lot of subs rotating in and out, is that a testament to the depth of this year's team?

Tonelli: We're deep, especially at guard. Guys coming off the bench are just as capable to start as the starters.

Patch: Does that feed into your coaching philospohy?

Tonelli: Our program is built that way. A lot of the guys we have now played some quality minutes last year.
