Roundup of Recent Crime in New Tampa Includes Best Buy, Home Burglaries
These crimes were reported to Tampa Police.

The following crimes were recently reported to Tampa Police:
- A group of people broke into the Best Buy in the early morning hours Friday and stole all of the iPads the store had in a display case. A stolen 1996 Nissan was backed through the rear service bay of the Highwoods Preserve Parkway shop. Then five suspects entered the store under the damaged garage door. They used sledgehammers to break into the iPad display cases and placed the electronic devices in bags before fleeing the store.
- Someone broke into the TECO sub-station next to Heritage Elementary School and stole about 500 feet of copper ground wire. The incident occurred sometime during the last two weeks. According to security, other sub-stations in the area have also been vandalized.
- Three home burglaries were reported during the weekend at the Camden Live Oaks apartment complex. Lanai screens were cut in all three instances. A host of electronic items were reported missing, including TVs and personal items.
