None of the Above? Tampa's Top Religions Ranked

The region has more "unaffiliated" than most metropolitan regions. Here's the rankings.

The faith community in Tampa doesn’t lean toward one religion. A new study by the Public Religion Research Institute looked at religious affiliations in 30 top metro areas.

In Tampa-St. Petersburg, “unaffiliated” accounted for 25 percent of the population. That’s more than any one religion in Tampa and ranks 6th among the unaffiliated in the 30 metro areas.

Second and third behind unaffiliated in the Tampa area were white evangelical Protestants with 20 percent and Catholics with 19 percent.
