The Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular

I'd never seen the Rockettes but this year, I got the opportunity to see them at The Straz Center and what a blast I had!  I felt like a little kid as I waited for them to make their grand entrance down the red carpet with Tampa's finest in blue, even Chief of Police Jane Castor was there along with Santa.

First, I want to say that this show is a perfect introduction for little people into going to the theater.  With Santa (who is a kids biggest superhero at this time of year) kicking things off, they will be glued to their seats the entire time.  I loved the costumes of course, being a fashion blogger that was the first thing I paid attention to.  I almost don't want to tell you all anything about the show because you really should go see it for yourself.  However, me telling you about it is a poor substitute for actually being there to experience it for yourself.

The show is about an hour and a half long and there is an intermission in case you take little people with you to see it.  The show is in the Tampa area until December 29th so you still have time to grab tickets.

There were plenty of ooh & ahh moments in the show.  The dancing is...well to use their phrase, spectacular.  The ladies are all beautiful & the precision of the dancing is truly amazing.  In one of my favorite scenes, they are all dressed like toy soldiers, at one point as they turn in the line, they line up to where it looks as if there is only one person on stage even though there are at least 18 dancers in this number.  That is not the only reason this is one of my favorite scenes but I don't want to reveal the entire show but I'm so enthusiastic about what I saw that its almost like torture to not share it all.

The show is not all showgirls and high kicks, there are singers, children, teddy bears and much more that join the fun. There is a 50 foot screen that helps to really draw the audience on to the stage as well.  All in all, I think that not only is this a wonderful way to spend an evening this Christmas season, I think this may become a yearly tradition for me.  Opening night had a guest of honor, Chief of Police Jane Castor took the stage and read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas to a group of children before Santa stepped out to really rev up the audience.  I've heard of The Radio City Rockettes all my life, afterall, they've been in existence since the 1930's but after finally seeing them. I feel I want to make this a new Christmas tradition for me and my daughter (she's 23 and enjoyed the show just as much as I did).  It's a great family night out for sure.

Hope you get to see this show & if so, please come back and share your favorite moments.
