Tourico Holidays Becomes Go-To Source for Travel Data and Trends

Orlando-based wholesale travel brokerage company launches new data mining initiative to provide insight on the global travel economy

Orlando-based company, Tourico Holidays, doesn't shy away from the limelight. Less than a month ago, the global travel wholesale giant announced that it has developed technology and dedicated a team of computer scientists dedicated exclusively to a new data mining effort intended to identify the origin and cause of shifts in travel booking behavior.

Tourico's own database receives over 200 million unique searches a day. The data mining team has combined that proprietary information with external travel aggregate and rating sources on the internet. Together, Tourico has an impressive cache of raw data directly related to the travel industry and world travel market.

To sort through and derive predictions, trends, and conclusions from the "big data", the new data mining team runs over 50 business intelligence modules. The company builds profiles for clients and supplier partners, compares them to similar clients, tailors specifics offerings for individual companies, and even bases business growth opportunities on the data.

For example, if their data shows a trend in demand for a certain city in China, Tourico works to contract more supplier partners in the area - even going as far as pre-buying large hotel room blocks in advance, a strategy the company pioneered over 20 years ago.

With Tourico's access to billions of travel searches a week, their willingness to "mine" external data sources, and the company's new initiative to dedicate a whole team of computer scientists to the cause, you can count on the Orlando company being the go-to expert when it comes to travel insight.
