Toxicology Tests Still Pending in Teen Fatal Crash
The incident that killed William Gallagher, 19, occurred in New Tampa on June 5.

Tampa police are still trying to determine whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the single-vehicle crash that killed a 19-year-old Wesley Chapel man in the early morning hours of June 5.
Toxicology tests are still pending on William Gallagher, of Point O Woods Drive, but the case is considered closed, according to spokeswoman Irene Thomas.

Police say they already know for sure that Gallagher, a 2010 graduate of Wiregrass Ranch High School, was driving too fast on Wild Tamarind Drive, a curvy roadway in New Tampa. The 1998 Honda he was operating struck a curb shortly after midnight, then flipped and partially ejected him. The vehicle pinned Gallagher, and Gallagher died at the scene, police said.
Passenger Charles Trimble, 16, was taken to Florida Hospital for non-life threatening injuries while fellow rider Cameron Davis, 21, fled the scene, police said. Thomas said Davis was later interviewed by police and that no charges were ever filed because it is not a crime to run from the scene of a crime if you are not the driver.
