Trenam Kemker Swings Sledgehammers to Demolish Offices in Support of United Way

Trenam Kemker Begins First-of-its-Kind Renovations with Launch of Annual United Way Fundraiser

Tampa, Fla., October 20, 2014 – Trenam Kemker is pleased to announce the kickoff of its annual fundraising campaign to benefit United Way, which coincided with the first stages of the firm’s major renovations to its 40,000 square foot office space in the Bank of America Plaza in downtown Tampa. On October 15, Trenam Kemker attorneys and staff made donations to United Way of Tampa Bay for the opportunity to swing a sledgehammer at the office’s walls, thus beginning the office’s redesign into a collaborative workspace and launching the firm’s 2015 fundraising efforts to benefit the nonprofit organization.

In May 2014, Trenam Kemker renewed its lease in Bank of America Plaza, and announced plans to reconfigure its space to develop a collaborative work environment and accommodate a younger workforce. While open, collaborative environments are an increasingly common business practice, Trenam Kemker has attracted attention as one of the early adaptors in the legal industry.

“As a part of our ongoing support of United Way, we felt this was a fun way to jumpstart our campaign to meet this year’s fundraising goal,” said J. Eric (“Tate”) Taylor, chair of the Executive Board of Trenam Kemker and one of the attorneys to take the sledgehammer (pictured). “The work United Way does to improve education and help struggling families and at-risk youth is admirable, and we are proud to support the organization in any way that we can.”
