Trio Arrested for Auto Burglary After Fleeing Police
Suspects made off with a vehicle parked at The Landmark at Grayson Park, but Tampa Police were able to catch up with them.
Three men allegedly broke into a vehicle at a local apartment complex, but they didn’t get far down Bruce B. Downs Boulevard before Tampa Police caught up with them.
The incident occurred early Monday morning when an anonymous caller told police people were breaking into a silver Dodge vehicle parked at The Landmark at Grayson Park. After gaining entry, police said, the suspects fled the scene with a brown Lincoln following the stolen auto.

An officer on his way to the scene spotted the silver Dodge heading north on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and turned around to try to identify it. That’s when the silver Dodge veered into southbound lanes and turned onto Palm Springs Drive, police said. Three men abandoned the Dodge while it was still rolling and fled the scene. But authorities — including D2 ROC, Air Service, K93, Mike and Nova units — set up a perimeter and caught the suspects: Anthony P. Daniel, 24, 99th Avenue East; Preston Dontay Williams, 24, of Linebaugh Avenue; and Donald Darnell Bowser, 24, of Cedar Trace Circle.
The trio was charged with auto burglary, grand theft auto, possession of burglary tools and resisting without violence. Williams was also charged with failing to have a valid driver's license.
