Two Shootings Reported In Wesley Chapel
Officials say both shootings appear to be prescription drug related.

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating two shootings in Wesley Chapel that occurred earlier this week.
According to Kevin Doll, sheriff’s office spokesman, the shootings do not appear to be connected. He did say, however, that both appear to be prescription drug related. Both crimes occurred in the evening hours, just miles outside of New Tampa.
In the first incident, a 41-year-old man was inside his home on Eastport Drive around 9:25 p.m. Monday when a masked intruder broke in and shot him in the face. Doll said the victim was selling prescription drugs out of his home. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Doll added.

The second shooting took place Tuesday around 9:50 p.m. in the Ashley Pines subdivision. In this incident, the victim, a 20-year-old man, was shot in the abdomen. The victim was flown to a hospital for medical treatment. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.
Doll did not know if the victim in the second case was buying or selling prescription drugs. He would only say that the crime appeared to be drug related.

Information about the suspects in the cases is also not available.
When asked if prescription drugs were stolen during the shootings, Doll said there was “nothing we’re commenting on” at this time.
Doll did say the crimes do not appear to be connected with a in Wesley Chapel.
