Veterans Day: What's Open, What's Closed?
Here's the skinny on county facilities.

Most, but not all, county offices and facilities will be closed today, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Continues Without Interruption

- Solid waste collection (including garbage, recyclables and yard waste) in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Service Area, which also includes Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green and New Tampa will continue as usual on Veterans Day.
Animal Services
- Animal Services will be closed in observance of the Veterans Day holiday with a limited number of officers on call for animal emergencies only (main number (813) 744-5660). The shelter will reopen as usual on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Fire Rescue

- Fire Rescue Administration and the Fire Marshall Office’s will be closed on Veterans Day. All emergency services will continue without interruption.
InfoLine
- Hillsborough County’s InfoLine, (813) 272-5900, also will be closed on Veterans Day.
Libraries
- All libraries in Hillsborough County will be closed, including New Tampa Regional Library.
Parks, Recreation and Conservation
- All county recreation centers will be closed on Veterans Day.
- But all regional parks will remain open, including Flatwoods, Lettuce Lake and Morris Bridge.
Sunshine Line
- The Sunshine Line transportation service will not be in operation on Veterans Day, with the exception of pre-scheduled trips to kidney dialysis centers. The Sunshine Line will resume normal service on Saturday.
Water and Wastewater Emergencies
- The Public Utilities Department’s customer call center and water/wastewater customer service centers in Northdale and Brandon will be closed on Veterans Day.
- Emergency calls regarding County water and wastewater service may be made to (813) 744-5600. Also, the Public Utilities Department’s Water Quality Hotline is answered 24 hours a day. That number is (813) 264-3835.
Constitutional Officers
- Offices of the Property Appraiser, Tax Collector and Supervisor of Elections will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, as well as offices of the Clerk of the Circuit Court and court facilities.
