Woman Killed In Morris Bridge Road Crash

The crash happened Thursday afternoon near Pictorial Park Drive.

TAMPA, FL — A 48-year-old Thonotosassa woman is dead following a Thursday afternoon crash on Morris Bridge Road.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Delores Cooper was heading south on Morris Bridge Road in a Honda CRV around 4:45 p.m. At that time, a Hyundai Genesis, driven by Michael Davis, 55, of Tampa was headed north. Cooper, the sheriff’s office said, crossed the center line around 1.1 miles north of Pictorial Park Drive and struck the side of the Hyundai.

“Cooper's vehicle continued through the northbound traffic lane and left the road after the initial impact and then struck an oak tree in a head-on fashion,” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.
