1. A teaser for what's on tap at Orlando Beer Fest next month (orlandoweekly.com) — Orlando beer lovers can look forward to Orlando Beer Fest on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Lake Eola Park, featuring hundreds of beers, ciders, seltzers, select spirits and THC seltzers. The dog-friendly, 21-plus event will showcase dozens of local breweries, food vendors, games and a giant beer pong area, with more brewers being added as the date approaches.
2. Rivian eyes new 40,000-square-foot Orlando building at 4825 Millenia Blvd. (orlandoshine.com) — A new 40,000-square-foot Rivian @ Millenia building is planned for 4825 Millenia Boulevard in Orlando's Florida Center North, with permits listing an $11.5 million construction cost. The project, expected to include a showroom, service bays, and EV charging, would add to Rivian's existing Orlando service locations on Jetstream Drive and Shader Road.
3. Orlando Science Schools begins enrollment process for six regional campuses (wftv.com) — Orlando-area families can already apply for the 2027-28 school year at Orlando Science Schools, a tuition-free STEM-focused charter network serving six campuses in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. Applications are open online through Jan. 22, with a lottery-based admission system and new 11th-grade seats at Seminole Science Charter School as its high school expansion grows.
4. Orange County steers STAR rapid transit plan forward (orlandoweekly.com) — Orange County leaders are advancing the STAR rapid transit plan, which could add high-frequency rail or bus service along major corridors like Colonial, I-Drive, and Semoran that many Orlando residents rely on. Backed by Sunrise Movement Orlando, unions, and Rep. Maxwell Frost, the proposal now hinges on funding a million‑dollar feasibility study amid tight county budgets and looming property tax changes.
5. Orlando resort recruiter shares how Dominican roots shaped her career (mynews13.com) — An Orlando-area resort recruiter is drawing on her Dominican immigrant upbringing to support and mentor new hires at The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando in Winter Garden.
