Attorney N. James Turner Fights for Rights of Private Student Loan Holders

N. James Turner reaches $500,000 mark in dismissals of private student loan lawsuits filed by National Collegiate Student Loan Trusts.

Attorney N. James Turner, founder of the Law Offices of N. James Turner, recently achieved $500,000 in dismissals of private student loan lawsuits for his clients. “Jim, from the beginning to the end, delivered. He was able to wipe away my case completely. Amazing man to work with,” said Julio P., a client of Turner’s whose student loan was dismissed this year.

Since 2013, Turner has focused on student loan defense and has represented more than 100 consumers in collection lawsuits involving National Collegiate Student Loan Trusts (NCSLT), which were created as investment vehicles by Boston-based First Marblehead Corporation. From 1996 through 2007, First Marblehead bought student loans from lenders, including Bank of America and JPMorgan, and then transferred the loans to the trusts, which became responsible for collecting loan payments from the borrowers.

“NCSLT has been among the most active collectors in suing student loan borrowers throughout the United States,” noted Turner, who thus far in 2017 has been successful in dismissing cases brought by NCSLT totaling over $137,000 in Orange, Duval and Manatee Counties, FL.
