Just in time for Summer .... Baskets of Fun!

State Farm agent and Kiwanis Club are helping children get ready for summer

Summer will look different for many children in our community this year. Parks, summer camps, and community centers are either closed or slowly reopening with various restrictions / limitations. This has created some really hard challenges for parents, particularly ones with small children who rely on programs to learn and develop.

To help out, State Farm agent Justin Bauknight has teamed with The Kiwanis Club of South Orlando and high school Key Club students to create at least 600 “Baskets of Fun” care packages for our children!

Each care package has 18 different activities for parents to engage their children. The baskets include: 20 pieces of multi-colored sidewalk chalk, arts and crafts, small science experiments, homemade bird feeder, play-dough, steno-pad, sticker and coloring books, and a folder full of engaging and fun activities.

The baskets are being distributed at local elementary schools, youth centers, domestic violence shelter, and the food distribution center at Prince of Peace Church on Curry Ford West in Orlando.
