Trade the Galaxy at the Longwood Winn-Dixie

WHAT:

Winn-Dixie is hosting a galactic event in anticipation of the new Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi.

From 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, neighbors are invited to invade the Winn-Dixie store, located at 951 W. State Road 434 in Longwood, for an exclusive Star Wars Cosmic Shell trading event. Activities will include cosmic costume contests, photo opportunities in front of an actual Star Wars background, face painting, live music and delicious samples. Attendees will also receive two FREE packs of Star Wars Cosmic Shells to kick-off the trading event.

The first 100 customers will receive a free mystery gift card for the chance to win $5-500! All attendees dressed in a Star Wars costume will be entered to win one of four $200 Winn-Dixie gift cards.

Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie, will launch a collectible line featuring 72 Star Wars characters on exclusive Cosmic Shells in all

Winn-Dixie stores in advance of the release of the new movie, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” in theatres Dec. 15.

Winn-Dixie customers will earn a free pack of two Cosmic Shells with every $20 qualifying purchase from Nov. 24 through Jan. 16 and will have the opportunity to purchase a collector’s album in stores for $3.99, while supplies last.

In addition, Winn-Dixie customers can download the VRgogglesWinnDixie app to stand side-by-side with augmented reality Stormtroopers and other Star Wars characters in stores. Plus, customers can pretend to fly a Millennium Falcon, and more, through the use of Virtual Reality Goggles.

Five lucky customers who receive a Golden Cosmic Shell will win an exclusive piece of Star Wars merchandise, such as First Order Special Forces Tie Fighter Helmets and a Darth Vader 40th Anniversary Commemorative Helmet, the most iconic helmet in the Commemorative 40th Anniversary Galactic Empire Helmet Collection in the Star Wars universe.
