Here are the top five stories today in Orlando:

1. The spring semester at the University of Central Florida began Monday with health and safety protocols in place during the rise of the omicron variant of COVID-19. As students returned to campus, they were also greeted by long lines at the Garage A main campus COVID-19 testing site. (Click Orlando)

2. A man who was found shot after a crash on early Monday morning in Orange County died afterward at a hospital, deputies said. An investigation is now underway by detectives into the incident. (WFTV)

3. A new report from researchers at the University of Florida claims that up to 80% of Floridians will contract COVID-19 by the end of the Omicron-fueled outbreak. A test of Altamonte Springs wastewater found that 70% of residents on the Altamonte Sewer Service area already have COVID-19. (Orlando Weekly)

4. Actor and comedian Bob Saget, best known for his role on "Full House," was found dead Sunday in a room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando. "Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case," officials said in a statement. (WESH)

5. The City of Winter Park will host its 20th Annual Unity Heritage Festival on Sunday, January 16th, and Monday, January 17th. The annual festival will take place in Shady Park in Hannibal Square from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, featuring special children's programming and live entertainment. The Monday programming will be hosted 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the same park with live music and food. (Bungalower)
