Commissioners will review a draft moratorium that could shape where, or even whether, data centers are allowed in Palmetto going forward.

Palmetto Weighs One-Year Pause on New Smoke Shops: What It Means for 8th Avenue - WENG 98.1FM, 107.5 FM & 1530 AM (wengradio.com) — Palmetto leaders are weighing a 365-day pause on new smoke shops, a move that could shape the future look and feel of 8th Avenue and nearby neighborhoods. With only three shops now, staff are studying zoning, definitions, and possible distance rules from schools and churches before any formal vote is scheduled.

Frick Brothers Bring Wrestling and a Veteran Mission to Palmetto – WENG 98.1FM, 107.5 FM & 1530 AM (wengradio.com) — A veteran-led wrestling school has moved its training program to Elite Legacy Martial Arts in Palmetto, offering local kids and veterans a place to build strength, resilience, and community. Run by brothers and Iraq War veterans Nick and Eric Frick, the program also supports a foundation helping 9/11 families and veterans facing PTSD and addiction.
