2-Year-Old Slain By Gunfire In Southwest Miami-Dade
Miami-Dade police discovered the child suffering from a gunshot wound in an outdoor apartment courtyard.

MIAMI, FL — A two-year-old boy was airlifted to Kendall Regional Hospital Friday night after being struck by gunfire. The toddler was pronounced dead a short time later, according to Miami-Dade police, who said the incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. in the 21000 block of SW 114 Court.
"According to investigators, officers from South District responded to the area of SW 214 Street and SW 114 Court, to reports of a child shot," Detective Argemis Colome told Patch.
Colome said that officers discovered the child suffering from a gunshot wound in an outdoor apartment courtyard.

"Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the child to Kendall Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased," according to Colome.
Sgt. Carlos Rosario of the Miami-Dade Police Department told reporters at the scene that officers will not rest until the shooter is caught.

"Once again we find ourselves mourning the death of a child," he said. "The Miami-Dade Police Department will use every resource available to locate the person responsible."
