Palmetto Bay Traffic Circle Now Closed Until Tuesday

Palmetto Bay officials announced that the circle will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 5 for a few hours.

PALMETTO BAY, FL — Village officials are advising motorists that the traffic circle at SW 168th Street and 82 Avenue will remain closed until Tuesday, Sept. 5., when it will reopen for a few hours. The circle will be open from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. It will then be shut down for the remainder of the day.

Officials said that workers will be completing asphalt work. The crew has already completed underground drainage work and has been working on the concrete component of the project.

"The pending concrete work will be completed this weekend as far as weather permits," officials said earlier. "Next week construction crews will begin milling work, adjustment of the manholes and drain lids. "Access to the circle will not be permitted for safety concerns as the milling and paving work will be underway," according to Palmetto Bay officials. "The contractor will make every effort to complete the work as soon as possible, even working under inclement weather conditions if necessary, as long as there is no danger to the workers."

Village officials cautioned residents to expect travel lane closures and detours. For more information visit the project Detour Map (MOT).

"You are also requested to exercise caution when workers and heavy equipment are in operation," village officials warned. "Obey all posted signs and speed limits and allow extra time to reach your destination. We thank you again for your patience during this period."
