Miami- Dade Police Department will keep you posted if further developments warrant.

January 28, 2020

Police report that as a precaution, some buildings in downtown Miami and downtown Dadeland are being evacuated after vibrations were felt throughout South Florida from a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck this afternoon between Cuba and Jamaica. The Miami-Dade Government Center at 111 Northwest 1st Street has also been evacuated as a precaution. For a short time, the Miami-Dade transitway near Dadeland was closed to traffic, however a few moments ago, our drivers were given the "all clear". As of this writing, afternoon IBUS and Freebee Express Metrorail pick-ups are running on schedule. We will keep you posted if further developments warrant. Thank you.
