Protest Planned For Palmetto Bay's State Of The Village Address

It has come to the attention of the Village of Palmetto Bay (VPB) and the Miami-Dade Police Department's VPB Policing Unit that the community may be coordinating a peaceable protest tonight at Thalatta Estate, the location of the State of the Village Address.

The VPB and the VPB's Policing Unit welcome and encourage the community to peaceably gather to assert their concerns regarding traffic in our Village.

As always, the safety of our community is our priority, and we will be present to ensure a successful and safe event.At this time, there is no indication that that the demonstration will be anything but peaceable.

However, be assured that the purpose of the police presence is to protect the rights of the community and the protestors by enforcing the law and safeguarding life and property. The VPB's Policing Unit maintains an impartial role in all disputes and demonstrations, and invites demonstration organizers to continue a productive dialogue.

Anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to contact the VPB Policing Unit’s Command Staff. The community works better when it works together.
