What’s Open, Closed On Veterans Day In Miami-Dade County
This year, Veterans Day falls on a Wednesday. Here's a list of what will be open and closed in Miami-Dade County on the holiday.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — On Veterans Day, many government offices and services, schools, and businesses close to observe the holiday. This federal holiday is celebrated every Nov. 1 and honors all veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
This year, Veterans Day falls mid-week on Wednesday. Here’s a list of some expected schedule changes in Miami-Dade County this year:
- Miami-Dade County administrative offices: All offices will be closed for Veterans Day.
- Miami-Dade Transportation and Public Works: A regular schedule will be followed Wednesday.
- Miami-Dade Solid Waste Management: Residents can expect regular trash pick-up services.
- Miami-Dade Public Libraries: Closed in observance of Veterans Day.
- Miami-Dade County Public Schools: Closed in observance of Veterans Day.
- City of Miami administrative offices: All offices will be closed for Veterans Day.
- City of Miami Solid Waste: A regular schedule for recycling and bulky trash services will be followed.
- City of Miami Trolley: This free trolley will operate on its regular schedule.
- City of Miami Parks: Most parks will be open from sunrise to sunset on Veterans Day. Some will have extended hours. Call 305-416-1300 to inquire about specific parks.
- Miami Dade College: The college will be closed for Veterans Day.
- University of Miami: Campus is open and classes will follow their regular schedule.
- Florida International University: The university is closed to observe Veterans Day.
- Barry University: Campus is open and a regular class schedule will be followed.
