WATCH NOW: Injured Worker Rescued From Construction Site

PALMETTO BAY — A construction worker had to be airlifted to a trauma center on Monday after he was injured on the second floor of a house that was under construction.

The accident occurred at 12:15 p.m. near SW 149 Ave and SW 176th Street, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
"Based on the injuries, the patient was transported as a trauma alert," the department's Erika Benitez told Patch.

"MDFR crews used a Stokes basket to immobilize the patient and lower the patient to ground units," she explained. "The rescue unit then transported the patient to Air Rescue for transport to trauma center."
